Dear family and friends
I am writing on behalf of the family and would very much like to Thank You all for your prayers on baby Christopher Kit Schill. It truly has been a tremendous blessing and encouragement to us to know that so many people across the world (Malaysia, Australia, Mexico, UK, and US) have been such a great support to Felicia, Mark, Kimmy and Chris during this journey.
Just to give you a brief summary. Christopher Kit Schill was born on the 5th of October 2010 and was diagnosed a few days later with a VSD defect, truncus arteriosus and an interrupted aortic arch. He went through his first Open Heart surgery on the 11th of Oct and a second one on the 29th Nov where both operations were a success. All praises to God!
He has been warded at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin since then and it has been a tiring, painful and at times discouraging for Felicia and family as they had to travel back and forth to the hospital everyday (the hospital is about 30 mins drive from their home) visiting Chris. They wanted to ensure Chris that they would equally provide the same comfort, care, and love to him like any other family would give to their beloved child. They want to make sure that Chris does not miss out on this even though he's in the hospital.
Anyway, about a week ago, on the 8th of Feb, Chris was officially discharged from the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Praise God! After four traumatic months of being in the ICU to the normal children's ward and back to ICU again, Chris was given the green light by the doctors to go home!!!! What a bundle of Joy!
This was after Felicia & Mark had to go through a 24 hour audition where they took care of Chris for 24 hours without any assistance from the nurses or doctors. They were assessed to ensure they were fully fit to manage Chris when he goes home. Now that Chris is finally home, they are going through a transitional period of taking care of him 24/7-feeding him every hourly either for medication or milk and at the same time, giving the same attention and love to Kimmy, their elder daughter. It's been tough and tiring but by God's grace they are managing quite okay. They even have some close friends who are helping to provide food for them, sending Kimmy home from school and taking Kimmy to play with other children. We are all so thankful for that.
The journey has been a roller coaster for the family but we would really like to appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts. Christopher is a miracle boy and he is so blessed with the many support, care and prayers from all of you.
THANK YOU!! Glory to God in the Highest!
God Bless
Aunty Siew Yong, Julia, Joanne,
Felicia, Mark, Kimmie and little Christopher Schill.
